First Podcast — Recorded on Holiday in Croatia

I have just recorded my first ever podcast. It happened on holiday in Croatia, which is not the most professional setting in the world — but it is exactly the kind of thing this studio was built to do. Make the thing. Worry about whether it is good later.

A quick disclaimer before anyone presses play: this is my first podcast. Really, genuinely, the first one I have ever recorded. I have never hosted, never interviewed, never sat in front of a microphone and talked for this long in my life. So please be aware of it. There are umms. There are moments where I lose the thread. There is background noise I could not fully control. It is not polished, and it is not trying to be. It is a first attempt, and I would rather put it out than spend another year planning the perfect launch.

The plan is simple: I am on holiday in Croatia right now, soaking up the coast and the heat and the completely different pace of life. I recorded the episode here because the idea would not leave me alone — and because waiting until I was back in the studio with the proper setup felt like one more excuse to delay. Sometimes you have to capture the thing while it is alive. So I did.

Editing comes after. When I get home, I will sit down with the raw audio, cut the worst of it, clean up what I can, and put it out properly. Do not expect a slick production — expect an honest one. The first podcast is always the hardest, because you are learning what your voice actually sounds like in this format, what holds a listener's attention, and what is better left on the cutting room floor.

Why a podcast at all? Because the DevLog has always been about showing how the work actually gets made — the workflow, the compromises, the failures. A podcast is the same idea, just spoken instead of written. It lets me talk through the thinking behind the films in real time, react to the festival news, and share the parts of the process that never quite fit into a written post. For a one-person studio, that direct line to the audience matters.

So that is the update. First podcast recorded. Croatia was the backdrop. Editing happens when I am home. Be kind — it is my first one, and I already know it is rough. The next one will be better. That is the whole point.
